Persimmons are lovely fruit. They are ripe when they are so soft that their sweet, almost jelly-like flesh practically bursts through their skins.You want to peel the skin before eating them. You can also cut them in halves and scoop the flesh out with a spoon. This video shows you how to. They are great in compotes, cakes or jams.
